Installation Process for a Single-Home Dwelling

This is a house, townhouse, row home, etc: installation takes about 2 hours)

  • On the day of your installation/signal check, a WhyFly Technician will call 15-20 minutes prior to your scheduled installation to confirm they are on their way and you are ready to be installed.
  • Upon their arrival, our technicians will need to first attempt a signal check. This means they will need access to your roof in order to get signal. This is why it is important we have permission from a landlord or property management to access the roof.
  • The team will bring a 5" round (small dinner plate) size antenna to secure to your roof.
  • We do not drill or puncture into your roof unless we are asked or get permission to do so.
  • Once the device is secured to the roof and a signal is acquired, the team will then use our fiber optic cabling to wire the antenna into your home.
  • We typically use the already made entry and exit points so no additional holes are made on the residence.
  • Once the cabling is in the home, they will connect it to your router. The router is imperative in allowing your home to have a wireless connection to your network.
  • After your router is set up, the team will help you to create your network name and password.
  • Finally, once everything is complete, you will be due for your installation payment.

Installation Process for a Multi-Dwelling Home

This is an apartment complex, condo unit, apartment/unit in a residence: Installation time ranges from 30minutes- 2 hours depending on the MDU).

In the case of a Multi-dwelling Unit, the team will need:

  1. To address points of power, building design, and service set up.
  2. This means that upon arrival, this process could become more involved than expected.
  3. There are possibilities of us not being able to service the MDU due to building design, wiring, or any interference.
  4. There are also possibilities of a need to reschedule in order for our team to get the necessary equipment prepared that was discovered during the initial installation.

If everything checks out on the initial installation/signal check walkthrough:
